Rio Guaire Holiday Lights
Extending across approximately 2.4 km of the Guaire River in downtown
Caracas, this was the most ambitious holiday decoration project ever
carried out in Venezuela. Kilometers of garlands crisscrossed the river
several meters above the surface, while adjacent plazas displayed a
multitude of ornaments, including brightly colored flowers, snowflakes
and fanciful characters that enlivened the area by day and lit up by
night under decorated trees. A combinaion of small bulbs and large
colored floodlights created a counterpoint that welcomed the local
population in the spirit of the season.
